Occasionally my MacBook Pro gets a little uncomfortable and hot when I'm away from my desk, glad to have this now.

A bunch of games and whatnot. Guitar Hero II was something I actually never had and my mother came across it for $2 at Best Buy. Can't beat that deal.

Parents had this poster mounted for me, all in all (poster and mounting) it was less than $20.

And this is the grand finale. I had never wanted to drop the money on an iPad, but I always wanted to try one out. I absolutely love it. Hopefully the 3G won't cost too much ;)

Agreed, .mac had a solid, sensible, identifiable connotation. I wasn't a mac guy at the time, but it whenever I'd see it, conveyed that Apple was providing a decent service package for it's users. "me" just seemed needlessly self-absorbed, and conveys nothing useful. "Castle" sounds like somebody in marketing trying hard to be clever.

I wish they'd simplify, combine & condense all these services, give all their iTunes and new hardware customers an account, and give at least one or two services away free to get people using it in some capacity. ...find my iPhone/iPad, or contact/cal/limited storage push syncing... But just go back to calling the whole package ".mac" again. Clean, short, clear, promotes the brand without being obnoxious.

It'll never be '.mac' again. Apple's ecosystem has changed too much since then, and it's not all about the Mac anymore. But I agree they need a free service which at very least includes syncing between devices, and a small amount of online storage.

Actually you can try it for free and it's fully functional as long as you only have 25 items in your library.

Having a free trial doesn't make it a free app, and crippled software is just that. No big deal, was just pointing out the title of the thread.

6 posts per day adds up to a lot if you keep it up for five years straight

i am at just under 4 1/2 posts per day and in my 5th year here, i am approaching 7500 total posts...i hope that makes me a "602" :)

So how soon until you get G5? ;)

Because it's not news. Plus it's a stupid issue in the first place. Every damn carrier in the world tracks your movement FAR more than Apple has. Google's Android tracks you even more than iOS does. This has been happening for well over a decade. Nobody cares, and only a few people have their tin-foil hats on tight enough to care.

Absolutely. I had a text the other week from my carrier (O2 UK) suggesting I go to a shop 10 minutes from where I live to buy a product. They know my rough location from which cell towers my phone connects to and they're happy to use that info for advertising purposes. Carrier's link location information to your account and personal info, Apple aren't doing that.

Can you guys answer 1 question for me?

When the next iPhone does come out how will iPhone 4 Verizon customers be able to upgrade? Do you think that Verizon and AT&T will work out an early upgrade for them?

Or do you think people who want the iPhone on Verizon will have already waited for the 5.

    Dear Macrumors,

To avoid confusion in the future, please consider relabeling "2nd Generation" or "2G" items as "Generation 2" or "G2" items.

This will help prevent future confusion on iPods and other accessories.

    Thank you.

I answered that the keynote was excellent. Although, I am not interested in owning either product (I don't have a TV, and I abuse cells phone too much to spend $600 on one), I did think that these were fabulously well thought and engineered products. I am sure that they will both have great success.

Steve really shafted us on the computer side though. The mac mini line really needs an upgrade. At $600 and $800 each, they don't hold their value against similarly priced Windows machines.

My fear is that Apple will devote too much resources to other projects and sort of abandon computers, like they abandoned everything else to work on the original Mac. We'll see.
