Hi,
I"m currently working for a TARP company and my I-94 date is Aug 2009. I still have 3 years left on my H1B.
I've got an offer from another bank (non-TARP) and they have filed for my H1 transfer.
a) Any idea what the wait times are these days?
b) Anybody seen problems with H1B transfers these days?
c) There might be a 1 week overlap (pay) between my current company and my future company. is that OK? e.g. My join date in the new company will be Feb 23rd and my notice date will be Feb 28th in my current company.

I've been in the bay area of California for the past 10 months. I'm a Canadian from Toronto. I've been following this green card mess for the past 10 months and was well aware of it even while I was living back in Canada. I would like to join the Norcal chapter of IV to contribute my thoughts towards resolving this situation.
Please let me know how I can join the Norcal chapter.

What are the requirements for using this. Can one exercise this option, if still available in the following scenario when returning from canada - H1 expired, H1 extension filing pending, no receipt notice received yet for H1 extension filing, and I-485 pending.

HI,
I am in US and have changed a job recently (changed status from L1 to H1 while in US). I plan to travel to india soon in Feb 2010. My passport is valid till March 2011 and my H1b approval is till 2012. Will this be a problem for me when I go for stamping in India.

It will not be "a problem"; but they will stamp your passport only till the exp date of passport (March 2011) and your I 94 (that you will get upon returning) will also be valid till March 2011 as well.

Per old instructions everyone was sending to Nebraska, and new instructions published are for 'direct filing'.
Do I follow direct filing rule or Nebraska only rule?
I am finally ready with medicals and photos and will be sending packet tomorrow.

Hi!
When i was in India, my company applied for H1B visa. In the meantime I got married and came to US on H4 visa. After a month, my H1B was approved. Now, my company is planning to apply for a change of status. I have the following queries:
1. Do we have to fill in I 539 form or I 129 form
2. How long is the processing time?
3. Will i be eligible to work from Oct 1st, 2007 even though the change of status case is in process? Or should i wait till its been approved?
please help me. Your responses will be greatly appreciated.

I am new to this forum and this is my first post. I am not sure if I can even bring this topic up about PERM in this forum. So, if this is irrelavant, please let me know.
My employer will be submitting a PERM application for my L.C. in a day or two. All the requirements for the job are complete. My question is, on the applciation there is question (Q:12) which states about "business necessity" and my employe will be checking "NO" as the answer. I am not sure what impication this could have on my application. The job requirement is B.S. degree with 5 yrs experience. I have a M.S. degree with 5 Yrs experience.
Please let me know if we are going in the right direction.

Thanks - I took this walking along a railroad bed that is no longer in use. I must have chased 10 of these things around before I finally got this one that would hold still long enough to get a descent shot.
