Hi I just graduated last year as an accounting major. I recently got an offer for a Property Accountant position at a real estate company. So it's not a pulic accounting firm. I was wondering if I'm eligiable to apply for H1B without a CPA?

my company have applied for H1-B & H4 extension for myself and my wife. My wife now is looking to go for work and has got an offer from a company. The company will be doing a premium processing of my wife's H1-B and it is expected to be approved in 2 weeks. my wife has already held H1 status before, so she doesn't fall undr the cap. If my wife's H4 comes thru later, what status will she hold?

You may be eligible. CIS usually requires 4 years of university-level education for a degree, or 3 years experience for every one year missing from a 4-year degree. An educational evaluator could say for certain if you have the equivalent of a US bachelor's degree.

My spouse H4 extension was filed in Jan 2011 and I was under impression that receipt is with lawyer. But recently I came to know that it should come to my address, as of today we have not got receipt no. I am still waiting for H1 approval decision and know H1 receipt no.
Is there way for us or our lawyer to get receipt no. for my spouse's H4 application?

I applied for I-485, I-140,and EAD almost 2 months ago..The package was received by USCIS but no receipts yet, no checks are cashed yet...We called and they said it may take 3 months to issue receipts...what should I expect?Receipts and approval of EAD in a month given that they usually honor the 3 months period to approve EAD?or nothing is guaranteed!!

I have filed my i-485 application with Vermont Service Center sometimes in 2003 or 2004 (do not remember, was a long time ago). The case was transferred to Texas Service Center in March 2007.
I just spoke to the USCIS customer service, and they told me that once case is transferred, the "receipt" date changes to the transfer date. So, due to the "improved service within the TX center" (as USCIS claims), all people who were waiting for adjustment of status and were transferred to the TX are screwed again. On the other hand, people who filed with the TX service center in 2006 retain their original "receipt" date.

P.S. my priority date was current for the past 2 months, however there is still no GC in sight.

I have added my wife to green card application. Can you please let me know when she can expect receipt notice and Fingerprint Notice and when she can expect her GC. TSC is processing my/her application. My Priority Date is in Aug 1st 2006.
I am one of the ones who had missed the July 07 boat. My PD is finally current.
My attorney is getting ready to file all the items (485, EAD, AP etc) tomorrow.
How soon can I expect the FP Notice?
Also, since I am applying only now, how long before I can hope to see Green?

My EAD and AP have the wrong birth date and I just noticed it. I have to re-send form I-765 and I-131 with the original EAD and original AP for correction. My case was originally filed in NSC along with 485, but I live in Texas.
But, as per instructions for I-765 and I-131, form should be filed at:
"Service Center with jurisdiction over your residence or Local Office - depending on where your case is pending."
Can someone guide me please ? Where should I file - TSC of NSC ?

Any advantage of opening an account on USCIS website to receive automatic case status updates? or I don't need to do that if I keep checking the status online by myself?
They send you and email if something changes, nice if you have a Blackberry/pda
If you have multiple cases i-129, i-131, i-140, i-485 you can see them all on one page, I find that easier to see LUDs in particular the "soft" non-action ones, but it's nice to know the file was touched.
