This appears to be more relavant given the need for rejuvenating the state chapters. Why not we have this as simple links on the main page itself and make it damn easy to join the chapter. The most important thing to do is to have the members join the chapters and have the contact numbers. Once these are there the IV state chapters could follow up and get the activities rolling with these members.
Bottom line: Have the state chapter joining links on the main page and have it simplified for the members to join very easily ( kind of taking the name, contact number and email and nothing more) later the chapter core could get in touch with them and get the complete profile. A kind of marketing gimmick.

Other gurus can answer in a detailed manner. I am going to very short. Chinese Eb3 have filed for an injunction stating that they need to be allocated visa numbers because in 2008 and 2009 they were overlooked because DOS could not count the inventory of EB3 properly.
DOS replied that this kind of injunction would harm other countries ppl. DOS is allowed by law to make reasonable estimates in progressing and degressing priority dates. If some ppl are left behind they cannot do anything.
Here is the part of the law which states that DOS has the authority to do reasonable estimates of priority dates and this is what was stated in the DOS response to the injunction
Congress has expressly

estimates.” 8 U.S.C. � 1153(g). In relevant part, Section 1153(g) states:
For purposes of carrying out the Secretary’s responsibilities in the orderly administration
of this section, the Secretary may make reasonable estimates of the anticipated number of
visas to be issued during any quarter of any fiscal year . . . and to rely upon such estimates
in authorizing the issuances of visas.

Quick survey to findout how many people like the idea of having their passports restamped here in USA and avoid all the surprises and shocks. This doesn't need any legal fixes. It is a convenient measure for everyone. Besides it was an old practice that was stopped for "security" reasons or some crapp. It is a small step but helps with any cases like family emergency or some urgent business need to travel abroad.
Based on the poll results and suggestions, we can comeup with a strategy to address the issue.

Photoshop might have a filter that could do this, although I'm not sure off the top of my head. I'd go with the Flash version myself, it's quick, easy and you can cut and paste the result into another package without any hassle.

I think this would be improved by cutting off the top part of the sky, where the blue is showing through and the clouds are burnt out. Try scrolling down in your browser just enough so that the top of the image isn't showing to try it out. :)

so far, i've not received any H1-B recipt. I'm worried about it. I'm also getting married in the last w/e of Nov, 2009. Is it a good idea to file for Premimum processing.

First, your attorney needs to call USCIS and ask if they received your application and get a receipt number. Then, you can file a form I-907 to upgrade it to premium processing. Moreover, you cannot start working for a company until you get a receipt notice, so this could cause issues to you incase you already started working. Have your attorney contact USCIS asap and track where your application packet is.
I lost my jon w/big software consultancy. I found another project and then applied for H1-B transfer with Indian consulting company. Its been almost 1 month since new company have filed for H1-B transfer and renewal (my H1-B was expring on July 6th, 2009).
so far, i've not received any H1-B recipt. I'm worried about it. I'm also getting married in the last w/e of Nov, 2009. Is it a good idea to file for Premimum processing.

I am on H1B visa currently, set to expire in two months from now (end of September). I need to get my H1B renewed for the next 3 yrs. Due to unavoidable reasons my lawyer has not been able to file for the renewal yet.
My questions are -
1. Do I need to have the approval notice before my expiration date?

We filed 2 - 485 applications for each of us(One is primary in one set(Husband) and the other one is primary as second application(wife)). Both of our lawyers said it is ok to file like this. Once we get the 485 approval in few years we have to withdraw the sencond application.

Hi,
Can a H4 visa holder apply for the Praxis test series and then apply for State Teacher Certification. I know on H4 we can't work but is it possible , just getting the Teacher Certification.
I believe that you can take tests as long as you formally study on your own. But get this confirmed by a lawyer.
If it's not possible on H4 then I have an option to convert H4 to L2 (as my husband will change his status from H1 to L1) and get EAD.
Just a clarification: If your spouse changes from H1 to anything, your H-4 status is automatically terminated; there is no "option" to retain it.
Can after that can I get the Teacher Certification from PA ?
I checked on PA State Teacher Certification requirement for Foreign Educated Teachers and there is one point like this.

No Not an option at all. I wish there was an option for USCIS/DOS to recapture wasted visa numbers. Same with the PBEC. The only thing that can provide relief to every one is legislative action. Please actively take part in the DC rally to get legislative relief.

Don't be afraid of the "G" lenses. I have several "Pro G" lenses and they are fantastic. The only difference in the "G" lens is it does not have an aperture ring and you don't need that unless you are using the lens on a manual camera. You can set the aperture manually in your D70 through the camera settings and you just don't need the ring.
Nikon manufactures several different quality levels of lenses and the more the lens cost the better the quality. I suggest that you buy the best glass your budget will allow and you can upgrade later. That's what I did.
I have the Nikkor 70-300 f4-5.6D ED AF Zoom and for the money it's a good lens. It's a consumer lens and doesn't have the build quality of my Nikkor 70-200 F2.8G AF-S VR IF ED Pro lens. But it works just fine and doesn't cost any where near what a Pro lens cost.
