Have you ever gone to move your finger across the trackpad and find that it registered it as a tap instead? Drives me nuts.
That has never happened to me, or anyone, that is intentionally using Tap to Click.
That does happen to people who live with buttons, who aren't expecting it, and for some reason tend to mash their trackpad with giant gorilla hands.
People I know that use click instead of tap have broken the trackpads on white macbooks after a few years of use.

What is your point? If you have something to say, then say it, don't post useless links.
It's called sarcasm - some get it and some don't.

I dont know, when I look at that white iphone. it has that unusual ridge around the edge like so many clones. The black iphone does not have a ridge around its edge. Why would the white one? i don't know, there is so much speculation around this new iphone 5 and the white iphone. Who knows what to believe! :)

WOW! the evidence youve accumulated is astounding:confused::rolleyes:
No advertising=more sales:confused:
Want to quote where I said that? Perhaps you and the ready2switch can find a set of words in my comment that actually mean that. I can't. Not even in the parts you quoted.
What I've said are:
- Sales would be higher now than six months ago regardless of what advertising Apple did. No advertising, bad advertising, good advertising. The fact is that Apple's PowerPC line was Osbourned. People were waiting for Intel Macs. They weren't about to buy machines Steve Jobs was telling the world were obsolete.
- Apple's current advertising is bad. It insults its current target audience. If Apple wasn't insulting its target audience, sales would be higher.
It's easy. It's also blatantly obvious.
Why are you pushing your opnions as fact?....
I agree with ready2switch below me
I don't have an opinion on what an opnion is. If you meant "opinion" though, I suggest you avoid any further posting. After all, you wouldn't want to express your opinions would you? Doing so would be "pushing" them as facts, right?

I don't disagree with you at all. He did the same thing at an EU summit on e-commerce.

As others already said, this was meant to be an INFORMAL dinner and by no means constitutes disrespect of any national or foreign authority. If there was any specific dress code (like in the Oscars, smart casual, formal attire etc.), protocol would have informed SJ.
Besides, he was not wearing shorts, flip-flops or anything of the kind...and what others were wearing (like a tieless shirt in the case of Mr. Zuckercrap) was not much better anyway...so relax, please.
I am alarmed at the growth rate of Microsoft in the space of your post. One company is more than enough.
If he meant it in British English, he is correct...

MACBANDIT [B]I don't know how many of you have actually spent time on a dual ghz mac but they are blazing fast. I currently own and am using a dual ghz/DDR and this thing flys with everything.
I agreed with you. The new dual ghz is FAST, but the noise in the hot summer day. I can use my new Powermac as heater in the winter season. :)
This baby can heat up your room nice and warm!:) if you are looking for heater and something to compute, Apple dual is a machine to get!

I took out the key and had a look but can't see anything from top that looks sticky and also the keypress is normal.
But the strange thing is, after taking out the back plate and trying to remove the keyboard ribbon connector from the motherboard, I broke a tiny bit off (the plastic top bit) accidentally and after that the left shift key worked again, however after the computer was on running a flash video in full screen (from one of them online flash video players) for a couple of hours the issue has re-appeared again.
Regarding cleaning it with alcohol, I'll give it a go and see what happens, but removing the motherboard completely seems a bit of a tricky business.

True, physical plastic home button is very easy to get micro scratches which are pretty visible. Again, capacitive home button flush with the glass will not have micro scratches like on plastic.
The issue which arises now though is the responsiveness of capacitive buttons. As in maybe they lose responssiveness after a while.

No one has mentioned the Apple store in Fort Worth... could mean good things for me! I plan on scoping it out around noon... stocked with school work and snacks!
I will be at the Fort Worth store too im not expecting a crowd
Man now I am torn, I was going to just get it at Best Buy but it looks like they won't let me and I am about 30 miles from both the knox st. store and the ft worth store, decisions decisions.

Apple is all for open standards...except when they are not.
A little like Microsoft. Embrace and extend...
:-)
Of course, this isn't really about open standards. Last I checked, H264 video has no encryption associated with it per se. You have to add your own on top.
That's what everyone is doing, Netflix, Amazon, etc. Netflix licenses theirs already, Apple will do so too.

That is so very true, I was reminded of this yesterday when my mother called asking about adding wireless to her laptop. The mininum spec to use the card was a 200mhz Pentium and she only has a 133mhz! It still works fine for email, word, etc. I guess some folks have a lot more patience than I.

I don't understand why it won't let you update, from the Help Menu > check for updates, in the app itself... why do i have to go to Microsofts website to get the update?

So the only model they're going to sell is the Elite Slim one once the supplies on the current Arcade and Pro are out?
It's not call an elite or a slim. It is just called Xbox 360 and then the Hard Drive size. My friend at gamestop said there should be a different model (either with a smaller hard drive or no hard drive) coming before the end of summer, due to their current xbox 360 arcade inventory.
Also, Engadget (http://www.engadget.com/2010/06/18/new-xbox-360-gets-a-proper-teardown-analysis-power-and-noise-re/) has a breakdown of the insides of the system. The system is quieter and uses less power.
... the new Xbox "noticeably quieter," measured at 45dB when idle or 51dB ... that's down from 50dB and 54dB... Regarding power consumption, Anand measured a 50% reduction from the original 2005 Xbox 360 (25% less than Jasper-class rigs at idle, or 20% to 17% less under load) and pulled just 0.6W when "totally off" compared to the 2W of vampire power pulled by older 360s.
They also said that there probably won't be a price break/reduction in the near future. Soif you were planning on picking up a 360, the current model is 50 bucks cheaper than the slim.

Another question is 'What do people think to it compared to using AppleWorks?'
Do people feel there is an improvement there?
In terms of Word proccessing I mean, not all the other things like Spreadsheet, Database etc
After all that is what Pages (and Keynote) are suppose to be doing, they are replacements

Wireless syncing is a lot easier and a lot less hassle. Charging the battery with an electrical outlet is the only time you need to plug your iPhone in anything, IMHO. I find syncing my iPhone to my computer to be a chore and I rarely do so because of this.
