Unfortunately iDisk is as slow as buggery, and always has been. Apple have done nothing to improve performance.
The new webmail interface is nice but thats it - a face lift, no new functionality.
You could but a "Name (Appear in From: )" for email aliases. Before it was the email alias. Not a big wow, but new.

And Microsoft Windows Server ? really ? Is it successful because I have to install 30 of those to run a simple SSO db like AD whereas I can run eDirectory off of 3 Sun boxes and achieve the same results with about 100 times more objects in the directory ?
God, haven't used eDirectory in ages, especially so since Novell has been a bit volatile. Been using a Mixture of FreeIPA/Zimbra OSE/Zimbra Collaboration the last couple of years, much faster and cheaper than a Microsoft stack.
So yes, Microsoft server is so successful because its just the best.
They have literally held the industry back all through the 90s and early 00s, something we're just now breaking free of. Just for that, I would never lend them my expertise no matter the offer. It is an ethical and moral choice, not one based on some crazy love for one brand of products.
Don't forget the the near-brainwashing of Techs and Admins, keeping most businesses and service providers out of plain ignorance.

The update, which weighs?
Weight is other thing. The update has a size of...
Let's use the English language correctly.
FYI: it's an expression. LOL.
OMG, who didn't know that. (http://www.engadget.com/2011/03/24/omg-fyi-and-lol-enter-oxford-english-dictionary-foreshadow-th/) :D

The iOS has some good games, but older games made for joystick/buttons/paddles don't quite cut it. I can't imagine Tempest with at least buttons (though the knob is ideal).
I like TRON and the game for the DS you have to use the touchscreen for some of the battles. The Tank and Disc battles the stylus/finger gets in the way of the playing screen.
The PSP version you just use the buttons, keeping the screen clear for viewing.
I think Sony's design of a rear touchpad on the new PSP will be the answer to a lot of "mobile touch gaming".
Yeah, the touchscreen isn't there for most established games, but for the games that can take advantage of it and don't rely on twitch movement, games that are more casual in nature, it's a very cool way to play, like World of Goo.
That PSP opens lots of options, like a real pointer. =O

oh, great. Just the thing aliens will use to find out where I am and abduct me again. Yeah, sure I had to opt in, but do you know how hard it is to say no to location features?! I mean seriously, don't they realize all the bad ways people, er 'others', can use technology like this.

So im wondering while i wait for my new imac what your idle/load temps are
Would be super if you wrote which imac you have aswell.
Wondering how much the 95w cpu does to the temp in the imac.
Would love to hear idle/load gpu temps aswell :)
RealTemp - Windows 7 - CPU hits 70C max on gaming.
Haven't checked my GPU temps but they aren't high either.
System doesn't even ramp its fans when gaming.
In OSX - CPU idles at 36C, GPU idles at 46C from iStatPro. I don't do much on OSX, a Hulu flash video seems to peg the CPU at 2-10%...

I just hope the republicans find a good candidate because I really don't want Obama back in office.
Why? How could a Republican possibly be any kind of improvement? The last Republican president really lowered the bar, and the current president has imperceptibly raised it, it can only get worse. Either way, really.

Is there any user-doable diagnosis for Mac 128K floppy drives? When I turn on the machine I get the expected flashing question mark. I then insert a system disk (newly written, non-defective 400K single-sided disk, system 1.01), but the disk does not click into place, nor does the drive start to turn. This is true both of the internal disk and an external disk. I get the same result (actually, lack of result) with any disk I insert, including the original system disk.
I have replaced the clock battery and verified that it is providing 4.5 v.
The front side of the programmer's switch button causes a restart to the flashing question mark; the back side of the switch instantly yields a Sad Mac, code "0F000D".
I'd sure like to do whatever I can by way of diagnosis before taking the unit to a repair shop.
Many thanks,
schuetz1619

Here is a good stat to look at, we are #52 at crunching but 58 position. Our outlook is better, but really it is just enough for keeping our spot.
Hopefully the release of GPU3 for macs, a3 bigadv and 12 cores mac pro will help.

None of the stores around me (10+ stores) have the 16gb in stock. Any of you considering the 32GB for $399?
Thinking about it, but its $50 more than I can get my wife to spend over the $349 refurb 16gig from Apple.com

Two questions:
1) Is that an iPad on the table?
2) Who paid for the coffee? :D
-Kevin
1) Duh. If it were Android based, it would have coffee on it.
2) "Who cares how they get it". LOL

I was praying that the headline was "Apple to Introduce new dock connector."
The current dock connector SUCKS. It's way too hard to plug into, especially on the iPad 2, with it's tapered edge. It feels flimsy and I dread plugging anything into it for fear of breakage/bending of the pins.
I was really hoping that Apple would redesign it using MagSafe as their inspiration.
Agreed flimsy AND the cable connection always breaks at the plug parts where the cable meets the plastic.
I wish they had options to connect the cable on the sides as well as bottom.
also teh screened on "front" printing disappears after a while.
So, I scratch a box around the sign. That way I can "feel" the right side in the dark.
Apple should mold that into the plug..

Can anyone confirm this? It's so annoying when new features are turned on by default. I guess I just need to delete my account. I have a fb, but never check it, but I keep it around just because I get an email if somebody sends me a message on there and then I contact them back. Facebook is just awful, worst mistake signing up for it. If you don't have one DON'T GET ONE!!

Did you use the 3ds flashcart to play DS titles ?
No, just standard DSi cartridges.

Following on from this story, apparently FoxConn will be supplying Apple with 15.4" MacBooks/MacBook Pros in May 2007.
