More important than an "empty" button I would like to see a restore function in the Trash, where you can highlight one or more files or folders and click the "restore" button.

Apple's efforts have been just as long term as Microsoft's. Apple just seems more segmented because they don't disclose info ahead of time. Apple had the advantage of being the first with all of these.
Microsoft has no choice, they have to announce we will be able to do this stuff or nobody will listen. In reality, all of these endeavors require a long term effort because you need partners to really entrench the product.
The iPod is special because you have thousands of companies and products that have brought it so deep, people can't get out.
Switch from iPod, you Beemer can't play your new MP3 Player
Switch from iPod, all your other accessories become obsolete.
Microsoft must follow this path or the Zune will never have an effect. Unless they focus on a 5 year or 7 year plan with this product, it will flop for sure.

Others have said it and I'll say it again.....
We need a 24" screen size, or something close to it.
21 to 27".....there's too much of a jump. 21" is too small for many and 27" may be too large.
23-25" is the sweet spot.

Personally, I dislike the idea of buying market share by taking a loss, which has long been Amazon's strategy. Nor do I like MP3s, in general, versus AAC. iTunes will continue to have higher sound quality...
I'm willing to bet you'll see Amazon's share price take a jump again as the media starts to say that Amazon is going to steal iTunes market share. Wall Street just loves market share. I think they just enjoy the controversy. They'll connect Android's growth rate with lowered mp3 costs and figure through some immediate impact that Amazon will steal away iPhone and iTunes customers away in the long run and pull them to the Android platform.
I say that it's not wise to just lower prices if you're going to lose money on every sale. I still believe Wall Street will let Amazon get away with it. I'll stick with Apple's pricing model since I'm sure they know how to balance their books the best. Since the record companies approved of Apple's tiered pricing model, I think Amazon might be sticking its neck out again if this new pricing model isn't approved by the record companies.

Bah, these things are rubbish. The scroll wheel clogs up with dirt, just as scroll ball mice did in days gone by - except there is no user access to clean it thoroughly. Apple need to re-think the design on this one before updating it.
Why fix this problem now? Surely they will make more money if they bring out a bluetooth version with all the flaws of the wired version, and then next year bring out the new improved version with a solid state scroll pad, independent side buttons, ability to press the middle button while holding down the left button (ie. to drag an object between applications, with my old M$ mouse I would click and hold on a picture, press the scroll wheel to change applications, then drop the picture into iTunes - can't be done with the Mighty mouses single click mechanism).

That ones not really too accurate due to the camera angle...its on a slope.
It was on a slope. I used a guide line in Photoshop and rotated the original photo 0.9 degrees CCW to remove the slope. Check my photo vs. the original.

I am not too keen on this "cartoony" 3D effect Apple seem to be going for.
Torn off pages� faux-leather binding� I mean doesn't anyone else think it is a bit corny?
It really does seems as if the cutesyeness of the iOS is spreading over to OSX.
I'd prefer a clean modern OS with usability first and foremost.

Remind anyone of OS/2 and their cheesy waste-of-screen-realestate spiral binder stuff?

Sigh, I'm getting the distinct impression that iCal is going to add a bunch of new features and not fix many of the usability problems it already has now. For instance, there is no way to shift several events in time simultaneously, you have to change each one individually. Another is that when you select several events from different calendars and copy and paste them they all turn into the same calendar category.
There are many more problems like these, but I've seen no mention in the preview reports that iCal has done anything to refine the existing features, only that new features are being added. If anyone with a preview can inform me of the contrary I'd be quite happy to hear it.
