Apple doesn't compromise their overall vision and functionality for single features like all the other handset makers.
So this is no surprise. This is why the individual iOS devices completely dominate their market segments.

...that's just because it's a "feature" of the particular video technology (e.g. in Real Media or Windows Media streams you can embed code to open a browser window)...
And QuickTime, too. There are QT movies that will send you to a web page at the end of the film. It seems to me the trailer for Spiderman 2 did this.

Hi everyone, just joined the team.
I have an iMac core duo going at it. She isn't much with her 1.83Ghz but it'll be at it 24h a day. It's about to complete it's first WU after 1day 19hours. It sounds a bit long to me compared to the times a say reading the thread, is this normal?

It doesn't even get above the fold on Apple's homepage.
The fold is an old concept...you sound like my boss! :p

Maybe this is already being done (if so, I'm not aware), but it would be very nice if PREDICTIONS for iPhone and iPad were tracked. I'd love to see a chart that shows all the predictions, including the dates they were made, what the prediction was, in terms of speculated release dates, and finally, the accuracy of the prediction.
We get ambiguous statements in the MacRumors reports, along the lines of "this analyst/reporter has demonstrated viable sources in the past;" however I don't think there's any hard reporting on how accurate past predictions have been. All we have to do is just think about the iPad2 predictions that were being made as late as January to comprehend how wrong they are ... and that was on the practical eve of release.
I vote for Page 2 as well. Or page 3.

Attempted insults show your insecurity.
You're assumptions prove it.
Try your tactics on someone else :)
Ignoring an entire post of facts that bring light to your comments about thousands of people being collectively stupid because you feel insulted shows...ignorance.
ignorance
noun
the state or fact of being ignorant; lack of knowledge, learning, information, etc.
The possessive form of the word is "your".
And exactly what would I have to be insecure about?

What, so he wasn't important? What about the president?
Disregarding the missed point...
Was important. The past tense matters. Other than giving those who look at the world with a revenge-at-all-costs is a good thing point of view something to chant loudly for, what has this changed?
If anything this will just escalate our wars, from both sides.

Personally I could care less about the graphics downgrade if the MBA gets sandy bridge. It is slightly disappointing at face value to downgrade anywhere with a new generation of machine, but I can live with not being able to do any gaming on this thing if it is excellent at everything else. i5 or i7 CPU combined with 512 GB of storage would be frickin' amazing. Throw in an anti-glare display and a backlit keyboard and I would just about roll over and die.

Why did you buy XCode, all you needed to have done was go to developers.apple.com and sign up for a free Dev account, once there, just download the older version (3.2.5) and install. The older version works fine and will enable the Gestures.
Yes I do have Xcode installed and also I hace an Apple dev account, but I've had it for long and gestures were not enabled on the previous updates to my iPad. If nobody else can confirm gestures on their iPads then what you say might be the case, but I still cant understand why they were not enabled on the previous updates.

bought the 27 inch quad i5 stock version last august just days after refresh. I loved it but due to wacky screen issue (dust or heat flaw) I got the apple store to just swap it out 3 months after I bought it. Second one had no issues and continues to perform flawlessly. I want to get a new macbookpro with thunderbolt but I think I'm going to hold off until Lion is released.

OMG....I would NEVER take information as fact from an "ATT customer service agent". I have received so much wrong info or even been dare I say lied to, I would never trust what a random ATT rep said.
Not to mention, the service reps are so far down the chain of command, they would not have info on when the next iphone is being released.
Exactly. An AT&T rep could tell me the sun is shining and I would have to verify for myself. They are masters of:
A. Not knowing what the ****** they're talking about.
B. Making something up to get you off the phone.
One of the many reasons I will never again give AT&T a dime of my money.

but who would want to have a full featured iTunes when you still haven't solved the problem of typing. The most efficient part for me is to type out what you're looking for.
Yes but who wants a "Tablet Size" Pods???

Is this good for case manufacturers (more product varieties to sell, more shelf space allotted, more chance to sell a new case to a user who changes models) or a headache (less economy of scale, more customer confusion)?

802.11n isn't due for ratification until 2008. There is a "Draft N v 2.0" due out next year that is supposedly close to what 802.11n will be but there's no guarantee anything will work until the final spec is released in 2008.
As long as it works with the 802.11[whatever] that the iTV ships with, it'll work for me. :)

It could be apps for AppleTV. I think there have been some clues of the xMac though. Mac is in the name here. AMD GPU drivers have been added to OS X. But the problem is it seems the market is headed elsewhere.

The plan is part of the price, getting a 3GS without a plan would net you $449.
And, you don't get an 3GS for $50 for an $10/month additional line. You need to pay for a real plan for that. And the least expensive would still net you more per month than you paid up front for the 3GS.
Not sure why you bring up Android phones? I'm discussing the stupidity of getting a 3GS instead of a 4. Or for that matter a 4 instead of a 5.
My math is correct.
You don't get it.
