Okay this is the one I got. (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=5839638126&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1)I know its not the greatest, but I figured it was the best for playing around with.
Question #1. Can this Mac take PC133 ram. I'm pretty sure I can round up at least 512mb of ram for it if it does.
Question #2. I want to upgrade the hard drive right away. Is there any way that I can copy the OS over to the new hard drive since I don't have any instalation CDs?
Question #3. Will all my PC pci accesiories work in this Mac?(other then the video card already found out those don't work)
Question #4.I have a wireless network and use USB adapters to link my computers to it. Will any of these work with Mac or only special ones?
Oh yah and last, but not least. Woo hoo! I got a Mac finally:p

I'd want a 17" or 15" HiRes ideally. But the weight is a killer. I drag this laptop around on my motorcycle, hanging off in my backpack, full of gym crap in it. The MBA is literrally "a load off my back". Of course, my Targus backpack has **** for restraints and bad ergonomics to begin with. I need to look into a better bag.
I was referring to a 13" MBP of course. If the OP is looking at the MBA, I assumed he'd compare it to that model and not the 15" or even a 17".
Yes, if I traveled more than I do or take it on my bike like you do, a MBA is the machine. Very attractive for many reasons. Still might get one to play with one day. Might replace the iPad downstairs for casual use. I don't take my MBP around as much as I thought I would so I probably should have gotten the 17".
My apologies on the model mix up. I did remember about the res differences. Thanks.
A note to the OP: try a 13" out real good in the stores or a friends. I myself could not look at lines of code for days on end squinting at a 13". But some more experienced programmers may not agree and the 13" price might be right for you.

Hey guys,
i was upgrading from SL to Lion DP2, but when i open System Preferences in Lion i still have Expose there!and even Dashboard icon in dock...did someone have this too?Or is there some problem?:D
Thx for help!
Are you perhaps mistaking the launchpad icon for the dashboard icon? Expose should still be in system preferences.

For some reason, when I run the Bootcamp assistant I do not get the option to download Windows support software.
I had an old version of Bootcamp which I used but it hasn't given me everything; for example the keyword function keys (volume up/down etc) are not working.
This is on a Macbook Air 2010 13" ultimate, Mac OS X 10.6.6 (haven't updated to .6.7)
Any suggestions? Any manual option for downloading?

What is WPA/WEP? What is firmware and where do I get it? Sorry im new to all this.Encryption, so only those with a passkey can connect to your router. If you're running it without, anyone can use your router if they happen to be in range. WEP is the easiest, but is little protection in the face of a determined attacker. Easy to set up though, and deters most casual surfers.
Google it, and for the love of God read the manual before messing with the D-Link control panel! I didn't, felt right stupid after I couldn't make it work ;)
Basically, firmware is the software which runs on the router. Only upgrade if you're having serious problems, it's that convoluted a process.

WMV. Vomits!!! :) I have Flip 4 Mac which I use for converting this bastard format my "odd" clients sometimes give to me. They offer a free plug-in for playback you peeps should check out. BTW, MS bought this company the other year right when they pulled their MASSIVE-POS WMP from OS X.
Video, one more notch on MS's mediocre belt.
Oooooh, motion control...
How ironic is that... this is M$'s mode of operation. They did it to Bungie and now Flip 4 Mac. No matter what they do, they can't keep the Mac down. :apple:

You'll have to connect your sound system using the audio/optical jack, either directly from the mac mini, or through the TV's audio/optical output, given the TV has an HDMI input that receives the audio from the mini.

You should really learn CSS in depth before diving in to creating your own theme. I would say beginning with a WP theme is a bit hard, but once you get the basics of CSS there's no reason not to do it.

There's a video of a Verizon iPhone 4 running on Sprint. Thought I don't believe it lol.
Verizon iPhone 4 Unlocked for Sprint (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qJr7P5P0QRM)
Something about it doesn't sound right...
Would be nice if Apple would just open up the iPhone to all carriers so people don't have to hack the phone like this.

I agree, I'm starting to get sick of these 4 gig downloads for 4.01, 4.02, jeez.
Yep. iOS apps never get that big so having to redownload the entire thing isn't so bad. Even full-fledged games on iOS never reach 1 GB due to the lower res graphics required for an iDevice, and due to the fact that they're lower powered and so they can't include as advanced graphics or the game would be sluggish. On a Mac, this system doesn't work. Oh well, the Mac App Store is still pretty much version 1.0 at this point. I'm sure it'll improve.

You might be able to softmod it, but I'm pretty sure you need a CD drive at least for that part.

Can the if-condition become the loop condition, so you won't need to break out of an infinite loop? Can you replace "while true; do" with "while [ "${FORTUNE:140}" == "" ];" or with something like it?l
Why?
Efficiency? It's a shell-script, for bog's sake.
Besides, you'd have to reverse the conditional to !=, or use the until keyword in bash.
EDIT:
Doing a little research on 'fortune' programs, it appears the most common implementations have command-line options for the length of the fortune chosen. The options -s -n 140 appear to limit fortune's output to only those epigrams shorter than 140 chars.
So as an exercise in learning shell scripting, this may have been useful. As an exercise in reading man pages before embarking on projects, maybe not so much.

I can't comment much more past that.

My girl used to use a Candyshell (the light blue and pink one). Now she has a pink and white Otterbox Defender and she couldn't be happier which actually shocked me.
Generally, the ladies don't seem care about the actual style of the case or even it's functionality. The seem to only care about the color. Granted that is a blanket statement and doesn't apply to the entire gender but the past couple of girlfriends I've had have had this same attitude towards their phones.
girls generally dont care for the size of the phone case because they usually carry the phone in their bags unlike guys who carry them in pockets...

I have the Apple bumper with no screen protector, has no scratches on the screen but I keep my keys and phone separate. The back has a carbon fibre back on, imagine that would be the same if it had no cover on it too.
