No. Intel graphic card is not acceptable for me by any means.
I doubt backlit keyboard will come back on MBA. Apple is trying to differentiate the MBP and MBA. Backlit keyboard is one of their lists.
Bottom line, intel HD 3000 is a step back. I won't step back to upgrade and pay money.
I will wait for IVY Bridge Macbook air or liquid metal MBA in the future or Carbon Fiber.
That's a long time wait, but I will wait.

When Apple aired those Intel ads of the Intel fab plant talking about dull PCs, a lot of PC users got angry over that. There was quite a backlash against Apple when they do negative advertising like that, simply making PC users look stupid (which they are of course ;)).
that ad was directed at apples base customer though. not all the new ones they plan on getting.

He's very into simplicity and minimalism, just look at the way apple products are designed. I think its a conscious choice to wear a simple black turtleneck and jeans, even though he could easily afford any clothes he wanted.
Once again,it's not a turtleneck and I've yet to see Jobs wear a turtleneck. Can anyone find a pic of him in a turtleneck?

had gas once... very very weird... felt like floating off of the table, until i was out cold... coming to after the procedure was weird, very dreamy- brother had to fireman carry me to the car... slept the rest of the day
So you re telling me I most likely won't even be able to have a cab take me home - my partner has to work, can't get out of it.
I'm afraid I'm going to be puking all over the place.
I'm weird. They are going to cut a 6-inch hole in my back and remove one of my lamina and a disc, and I'm worried about anesthesia.

Any UI/Software/Dashboard changes?
I don't mind the new design. I think I'll probably get one in a year or so when I move out.

In Massachusetts we already pay an excise tax on vehicles, boat and other toys.
Introducing a tax on road usage, not to remind you that we already pay taxes for this, would impact the ones that depend on such an infrastructure to support the economy.
The majority of the revenues that would feed the government waste would ultimately be passed on to everyone. Whether it be food, consumer goods, clothing and so on, it all requires some sort of usage of the infrastructure we are already paying for.
How about no new taxes and better manage the money we already feed into the garbage disposal.

Wow, I absolutely love this widget, just a little positive criticizing. ;)
Where you click the three dots on the bottom to expand it, you have to go down to the bottom of the widget to close it back. Anyway of keeping it were it is, so you can quickly click, look, close back. This functionality would be similar to the weather widget.
And for the actual design, I know you stated that you didn't like it and are planning to change it, make sure you make it nice and "aquafied", like the apple widgets. If you don't think you're too good at that there are always design pros here that i'm sure would be willing to help. :)
But nevertheless I love this, I know this is just the early beta stage, but I have confidence this will be one of my favorite widgets. Also, have you thought of making a modified version which can join any team, and then submit it to Dashboard Widgets.com (http://www.dashboardwidgets.com/) , you could win a Mac mini! :D (by the way I am in no way associated with these guys)
EDIT: Woops was just reading MacBytes and noticed that voting has started and the contest is over at dashboardwidgets.com .... :o

Must haves: Faster CPUs and Thunderbolt - not so important now but in 6-18 months anticipate widespread Thunderbolt equiped monitors with USB 3, SD, Firewire and ethernet ports built in. Your external monitor will be your hub and Thunderbolt means future proofing your MBA. Like to haves: me and my pretty mouth would like a backlit keyboard.:p

and look at how many devices you have to do that lol
Yes and they quite happily play the same media from any of my devices with media on without needing a new 'revolutionary' apple standard, why not make apple devices support DLNA out the box.

It was what I was expecting to be honest - a slightly smaller 360. Not crazy small, just a little bit.
Built in 802.11n is a nice touch, seeing as MS charge insane money for their WiFi adapters, and they have been playing catch up to the PS3 (especially the Slims) for built in features.
Stuff I don't like? Gloss! Sony realised glossy didn't work that well and went to matte, but MS have done the opposite. Still stuck with a custom HDD, which will no doubt be overpriced for replacements.
Will I get one?
Probably not. I've got a recent FF XIII Super Elite 360, so this offers me very little - literally built in WiFi vs. my adapter, and power/noise. Not worth the money.

... to appease old school folks like yourself. It's off by default. OSX has always been about not having to think about managing the OS and focusing on being productive, creative and enjoying the purpose of the computer. Letting the OS manage system resources is the next logical step.
Apps don't need to be running if they're not being used. If the OS saves all work and opening an app is nearly instantaneous, then there is no difference between a running app or a closed app running some services in the background.
Nonetheless, the ability to turn the lights back on is a temporary transitional ability. It will no doubt be gone in the OS after Lion and only few people clinging to the past will look to turn them on.
Sometimes I like to know whats running and what isn't, at a glance. It's not just "old school folk", I'm relatively new to the Mac scene and its great to see with that light showing me whats running, whether MSN is recieving anything, etc.
I understand Apple's motivation for removing it, but until Lion matures I'm not 100% confident in the OS ensuring that I don't encounter lag when I don't want it to. It's perfect the way it is at the moment. :)

According to this its 25 cents per gallon of gas, with an additional 5% sales tax....:confused:I thought it was higher than that.
Connecticut levies a 6% general sales or use tax on consumers, above the national median of 5.85%. In 2007 combined state and local general and selective sales tax collections were $1,424 per person, which ranked 21st highest nationally. Connecticut's gasoline tax stands at 41.9 cents per gallon (4th highest nationally), while its cigarette tax stands at $3.00 per pack of twenty (2nd highest). Additionally, Connecticut levies a 5.8% gross receipts earnings tax on oil companies, which is collected at wholesale. The sales tax was adopted in 1947, the gasoline tax in 1921 and the cigarette tax in 1935.

Even after that comparison of Apple's products to Windows', I'd still buy Apple.
Don't tell me that I'm wasting my money just because I can easily afford to purchase a Mac. Most of the people that talk crap about Macs are the ones that can't afford them, so of course they're going to talk bad about them.
I don't think anyone is stating that. I myself prefer buying an apple products when they fit my needs. I won't blindly buy one just because it has the apple logo though.
The sum of the parts, hardware+software usually make apple products a great solution.
Many people find windows based PCs to be an acceptable product and at a fraction of a cost, its a no brainer for many people.
I disagree with the luxury vs cheap car analogy. I built a core i7 that exceeds what apple provides and its much more "luxury" then a junker car. It looks great because the case I chose, it performs awesome and the cost was 1,500 less the comparable mac pro. I opted to turn the computer into a hackintosh because I do prefer OSX over windows.
BTW, to clarify my earlier remarks, I've purchased a mac mini, MacBook Pro and I've built out a core i7. I buy apple when it makes sense and build when I think thats a better option.

Most of the Mac Guides help articles are now in a category called Mac Guides which is a subcategory of MacRumors.com (maybe it should be a root category, I'm not sure)
The following needs adding to that but I can't as I'm not a mod:

The u.s had the opportunity to thrive, especially after the cold war, but instead the country decided it would focus itself on wars, and therefore continue to spend more money than it could afford. This worked itself through the economy ( greed - irresponsible loans, derivatives ( which are a total con ) etc which lead to the banking crisis didn't help ), and now the u.s finds itself in the pits.
Hey, you had the potential but you decided to throw it all away...
US has several shortcomings that have converged to create this situation.
