I hope there will be dual-core processor and 1Gb ram on the white phone, that's all i am asking for. Otherwise i am going to use my cheap cell phone until iphone 5 comes out.

Yes and it states "a touch screen display" "For multifunctional handheld devices".
"The method includes sensing an object spaced away and in close proximity to the electronic device. The method also includes performing an action in the electronic device when an object is sensed." Meaning when I'm close to touching the darn thing do/show this when this is happening on screen.
Did you read it?
http://www.macsimumnews.com/index.php/archive/part_1_apple_files_proximity_detector_in_handheld_device_patent_application/
EDIT: Still not "touchless" either....
"For example, when using a touch sensing device along with a proximity detection system, advanced gestures may be performed that combine proximity gestures along with touch gestures."
UW, sounds like reflecting the fingers to the screen ...
... THAT IS ONE CREEPY BOWSER   POOR OLD BABY POOP !!!

In the UK edu prices:
£31 for Mighty Mouse and £35 for the Bluetooth version.
Not too bad I guess. I'll be holding out for the black version though :)
Edit: Ignore the prices folks...looking at the wrong one.....doh!

Correct. Xcode is the Mac OSX development platorm, so naturally it only runs on Macs.
Ok, well, that's cool. I found a very quick and simple way to enable multi-touch gestures on a pc, without Xcode or jailbreak:

An interesting read in response to the kernel panic ability of the .DMG vulnerability:
http://alastairs-place.net/2006/11/dmg-vulnerability/
A very insteresting read.. most of which I only barely grasp. Object oriented programming just makes my eyes glaze thinking about it.. The gist:
i don't understand why everyone is ignoring this guys' post. i'm not a computer engineer, so can someone with the right knowledge explain this a bit more? is it really adware or just a bug? :)

No thanks, I don't want to have to jailbreak my TV to make it useful.
These TV rumours are bogus IMO. I think the rumour will turn out to be related to the AppleTV box we have today, rather than a TV.

I have looked at my new white iPhones and it appears that there is a ridge that goes around the front side of the iPhone. It appears to be a type of "buffer" so that when the iPhone is placed face-down on a surface, the glass surface doesn't actually touch the surface and it stands solely on this outside ridge. Pretty cool if you ask me, and it still fits in my old credit card iPhone 4 case.

I actually hope it's moderately successful. Hopefully then, Apple will see fit to reduce their pricing schema on the iPods.
Realistically, it could go either way. Despite the debacle that is Windows, Microsoft has had a great deal of success with the XBox. I wouldn't be surprised if Zune isn't as bad as most members of MacRumors will make it out to be.

Really depends on yoru defintion of success. Popularity wise it's been successful (360 is helped solely by the fact it's the only HD player out there right now) but as far as the stock holders and business men are concerned it's been a debacle - they've lost hundreds of millions of dollars in the XBox and have still yet to see a single positve quarter, financially speaking, since it's inception.

if by "internal" you mean "inside the box," that seems unlikely. The main benefit of fiber optics is over distances greater than those inside a PC. Signals on PCB's travel at something like 25% of the speed of light (depending on dielectric), which may seem slow, but is very speedy compared to the long cables used to connect PCs to external peripherals.
Ah, gotcha. Guess I misread/misunderstood the info. So it's truly meant for peripheral devices and will not replace internal components. For some reason I thought it was a universal (internal/external) system. Oh well.
Still bummed there will not be a "Light Peak" PCIe for Mac Pro's.

I always wondered where "huffy" came from. :p
[/off topic]
AAPL will recover, but perhaps not soon. The markets are in a state of confusion right now (I can imagine that this week was one roller coaster for day traders!), but Apple is a solid company with solid earnings, solid growth forecasts, and a solid roadmap for the near future.
I mean, it's not as if Apple is taking on suspect mortgages...:p
Huffy, of course, is manufactured in China by the Russell Corporation. :)
It is true, if your Apple stock has declined, selling is probably the worst thing you can do. If you thought it was worth $169, then it is definitely worth $130 to you. Nothing has really changed since it dropped from its high.

(Guess I would want the non-glossy screen? I guess that looks like a normal desktop LCD?)
Do some google searches on the pros and cons. The glossy has a sharper image with brighter colors. It even has less glare under some circumstances.

A bit harsh, aren't you? They're supposedly integrating better search features into the next version of Pages precisely to improve the researching component of writing. So it's not like I'm the only one who thinks that Pages needs more to better compare to Word. As it stands, I'll give Pages a shot if I need to do something fancier than writing for MFA workshops.
Plus, I save a couple of bucks.
Pages isn't Word. It doesn't try to be Word. For those of us who use Pages every day, this is actually a good thing.
As for being harsh, it seems like every time a thread on subject gets started, someone says Pages is only really suitable for newsletters, and not for "serious" writing. I find that most of the people who say this haven't gotten much past the template selection window. They see all those newsletter and flier templates and assume that this all Pages is good for. They've probably never created a template of their own and so are missing one of Pages' most powerful features.
Also, it almost never fails in these threads that someone says they'd be using Pages today if it only had certain features that it already has. I don't know that it's being "harsh" to correct the record, but if that's what it is, then I guess that's what I am...
