Crystal Film for Powerbook screens...it's supposed to make the screen appear brighter and clearer (not sure how that works, but whatever), and I was wondering if anyone has used it/tried it. It's intriguing to me, but I don't want to waste $35 on a gimmick.

Hi all. Help with iCal please. Why does iCal automatically clear past events from calendar? My travel dates and flights for work have all disappeared. It is important that I can look back for reference for taxes, etc. Help!

It's easy: if you don't want anyone tracking you, then don't carry your phone (or other electronics) with you when you go out. We need to get back to the 70's and start installing more phone booths on street corners again.

You mean they can't just put out an update to the app which includes a notice about the new HTML5 web-site? They *have* to be able to email it to you, call you, and send it to your home address in paper form?
Of course not. Since that app would not be allowed because the HTML5 version would offer cheaper prices - which is against the app store rules ;-)

Sorry if this has already been mentioned somewhere (I couldn't find it), but...
...is there a date for when we can expect this change to .Mac's webmail?
Also, I can understand why Apple previewed iTV -- but why the preview for something like this? Will we be seeing more previews from them? Doesn't seem like their style. Not that I'm complaining... ;)

samsung afaik OWNS and runs their own factories, largely is SK and other nations. their employees spend their salaries and pay taxes.
apple outsources all manufacturing. None in US. When what do they do with such big pile of cash made from not running factories? They park it in some overseas bank account to avoid paying tax to US.
Don't be fooled by headcount/profit ratio.

ok this is weird, I just went through change the rate plan set up again .. and now the price is $154/month instead of $170, and nights/weekends is unlimited.

This is why carrier competition is important. The T-Mobile deal needs to be struck down by regulators.

The bidders seem suspicious to me. They fit the pattern of scammers that buy something for a high price and end up scamming the seller in one way or another. So maybe the buyer will end up loosing his $450 picture!!! Poor guy. :rolleyes:

There's no way to know really. The next update will probably be late this year or early next year. Might be a redesign, or not.

great, now Toast can concentrate on compatibility issues on the DVD-R side... i've had nothing but problems with my Plextor 716A (DL) and I can't burn higher than 2x without underrun errors on either my new MBP or the Plextor. Different media hasn't helped.

I could use the Volt right about now......
The only electric cars I would consider are the Tesla and Fisker Karma. Personally, mpg does not enter my train of thought when purchasing a car. And it MUST growl when on the throttle ;-)
